Job summary

National Oak Distributors in Memphis is seeking an Operations Manager for our local distribution center. The role focuses on supervising a warehouse crew, driving safety and efficiency, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to meet client demands.

The successful candidate will manage staffing, report performance, ensure compliance with DOT/Hazmat and OSHA, and partner with leadership to deliver strong results.

Responsibilities

Successful candidates will handle the daily supervision of a warehouse crew and provide 'hands-on' support. Responsibilities:

• Scheduling of staff based on workload
• Running shifts with safety and efficiency as priorities
• Maintain and report daily work logs to corporate office
• Audit of daily labor and billing reports
• Performance management of staff, including hiring, counseling and interpretation of State and Federal employment laws
• Proactive demeanor and practitioner of continuous improvement using lean tools of 5S, 5 Why, Kaizen and one-piece flow

Qualifications:

• Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership and customer service skills
• The ability to make decisions, problem solve, prioritize assignments and direct the workforce in an ever-changing warehouse environment
• Microsoft Excel and Outlook experience a must
• Proven track record in supervision of warehouse employees including hiring and training
• Experience and ability to create and maintain various management reports
• Knowledge of DOT/Hazmat, OSHA
