Wagner Logistics in Liberty, MO is seeking an Operations Manager to coordinate and supervise all warehouses’ activities under the Warehouse & Transportation Manager, overseeing receiving, warehousing, shipping, and transporting to meet service and cost objectives.
You’ll lead inbound/outbound scheduling with carriers, supervise unloading, ensure accuracy of paperwork, manage safety, inventory, labor, and records, and collaborate with customers and vendors to maintain high performance.
Summary - The Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating and supervising all warehouses’ activities as directed by the Warehouse & Transportation Manager. The Operations Manager is responsible for supervising the receiving, warehousing, shipping, and transporting of product in a manner consistent with company service and cost control objectives, and for achieving prescribed company objectives in customer service, safety, quality assurance, inventory control, productivity, and security.
Coordinate inbound and outbound scheduling with third‑party carriers. Supervise and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and the picking and staging of outbound shipments, while maintaining a high level of productivity. Ensure proper wave allocations, shipment, and transportation to LCAAP facilities and within customer SLA requirements. Oversee the verification of inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all shipments are accurately counted and inspected for damage.
Maintain a complete understanding of all customers' specific requirements and communicate standards to all personnel. Maintain a working knowledge of company and customer warehouse management and yard management systems. Maintain appropriate contact with customers and respond in a timely manner to customer requests or concerns.
Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment and transportation equipment. Place unsafe equipment out of service and arrange for the necessary repairs. Coordinate preventative maintenance scheduling with corporate equipment maintenance and approved maintenance vendors.
Establish work schedules for assigned warehouse personnel. Ensure work is assigned effectively and completed safely and in a timely fashion.
Maintain the product locator system. Ensure the optimal utilization of space through warehouse consolidation. Rotate product as required by each account. Assure the integrity of the inventory and assist in conducting physical inventories.
Ensure strict compliance with the security policies and procedures necessary to protect the well‑being of employees, visitors, merchandise, equipment, and property. Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Promote safe working habits and enforce company safety rules and policies. Conduct periodic safety meetings and safety contacts. Conduct accident investigations. Conduct operations in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
Direct warehouse operations to achieve prescribed productivity objectives. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques in supervising, counseling, and disciplining subordinates. Enforce the company rules of conduct. Participate in the performance appraisal process and evaluate personnel for training needs, wage increases, and promotions. Participate in the hiring and selection of hourly and supervisory personnel.
Oversee completion of required records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion. Retain records and reports as required by the customers’ specifications.
Conduct shift meetings and keep warehouse and office personnel informed of information they need to know. Act as liaison between employees and top management. Interact with the operations management and customer service team, customers, vendors, and corporate departments as necessary.
A. Education Level: Partial college required; bachelor’s degree in supply chain/Logistics or Business Administration preferred.
B. Experience: Five or more years of warehouse supervisory experience in a similar work environment.

3 years: Customer Service and Warehouse Systems - Experience managing customer requirements, resolving operational concerns, preparing reports, and using warehouse management systems.
3 years: Safety and Regulatory Compliance - Experience enforcing safety procedures, conducting safety meetings or incident investigations, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations.
3 years: Team Leadership and Performance Management - Experience scheduling labor, assigning work, coaching employees, addressing performance issues, and supporting hiring and development.
3 years: Shipping, Receiving, and Inventory Control - Experience overseeing inbound and outbound operations, product storage, order staging, inventory accuracy, and physical inventories.
3 years: Warehouse Operations Supervision - Minimum of three years supervising employees in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment.
