Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day site operations, including warehousing, receiving, and shipping. You will plan inbound/outbound volume, optimize space, and manage equipment while leading a team.

You will hire and train staff, conduct performance appraisals, ensure safe procedures, and drive continuous improvement to meet productivity and service goals. Collaboration with HR for staff development is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 7 years’ experience in logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
• 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
• Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures seasonally.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day site Operations, supervising warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product.
• Planning of inbound and outbound volume, customer communication activities, space utilization & management, and equipment management.
• People management responsibilities include hiring and training, labor management planning, conducting performance appraisals, and addressing performance issues.
• Ensures the development of systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products in a safe manner.
• Drives company Continuous Improvement efforts.
• Manages operations to meet prescribed productivity and service goals.
• Collaborates with Human Resources for hiring, training, and professional development.

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred
• 7 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
• 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role
• Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months can range from mild to moderate
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, and Power Point)
• Demonstrated proficiency in knowledge of applicable WMS systems
• English (reading, writing, verbal)
• Strong attention to detail accuracy and accomplish job task in a timely manner
• Good organizational and personnel skills
• Good communication skills, written and oral
• Good leadership, supervision, and planning skills.
