Job summary

CS Recruiting's client, a leading provider of sustainable fuel and freight solutions, seeks a Warehouse Operations Manager to lead all warehouse processes on-site in Phoenix. You will oversee inventory, transportation, reporting, safety programs, and staff development while coordinating with sales and vendors to optimize costs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business and 2+ years in warehouse/operations, with proven leadership and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business plus 2 years warehouse/operations experience.
  • Proven supervisory leadership in a warehouse or operations role.
  • Knowledgeable in material handling and inventory documentation.
  • Budgeting, contracts and shipping knowledge.
  • Excellent math, accounting, and financial interpretation skills.
  • Strong communication across all levels; build relationships.
  • Willing to travel nationally; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and improve warehouse processes including inventory management, transportation, and customer service.
  • Provide timely, accurate reports on warehouse operating condition.
  • Communicate issues and actions to Regional manager and other leaders.
  • Maintain warehouse facilities and equipment; keep area clean and orderly.
  • Develop relationships with vendors, suppliers and shippers.
  • Provide leadership through objective setting and delegation.
  • Plan shifts, staffing, and seasonally high workloads.
  • Manage development and training of warehouse personnel.
  • Ensure safety programs and regulatory compliance; document meetings.
  • Lead loss prevention efforts and security.
  • Coordinate with Sales to meet customer needs.
  • Oversee capital and operational budget for facility.
  • Determine efficient layout for product flow.
  • Promote goodwill and a positive image of the Company.

Warehouse Operations Manager

Job Type: Full-time; On-site

Responsibilities
  • Assume responsibility for the measurement and effectiveness of all warehouse processes to include inventory management, transportation, customer service and personnel.
  • Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the warehouse as required.
  • Communicate issues, programs, decisions and actions to Regional manager and other leaders, and departments as required.
  • Assume responsibility for the maintenance of Warehouse facilities including equipment. Ensures that both the inside and outside of the facilities are clean and orderly.
  • Work to develop and maintain productive business relations with vendors, suppliers and shippers.
  • Provide leadership to assigned personnel through effective objective setting, delegation, and communication.
  • Conduct regular meetings to ensure that personnel are well informed of changes in policies and procedures.
  • Continually enforce productivity standards.
  • Assign and coordinate personnel, scheduling to ensure workload is done efficiently. Keep shifts properly staffed and plans for high seasons.
  • Manage the development of warehouse personnel.
  • Provide measurable feedback to assigned personnel and suggestions for improved performance.
  • Complete new hire 30/60/90-day reviews.
  • Formulate and implement employee development plans as needed.
  • Work with Human Resources to schedule interviews, hiring, training and managing issues as necessary.
  • Proactively manage the safety programs to ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide monthly documented safety meetings. Investigate driver vehicle and workers compensation accidents by completing appropriate documentation, investigating incidents and taking corrective action.
  • Lead and support loss prevention efforts by ensuring security equipment is maintained and facilities and secure.
  • Partner with Sales to ensure the field operations associates are proactive in meeting customer needs.
  • Assist with goal‑oriented strategic priorities, project management and process improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and participate in business acquisitions, warehouse moves and special projects.
  • Plan and manage the warehouse operational expenses to meet financial goals and expense policies.
  • Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met. Train staff and monitor performance and progress.
  • Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment.
  • Prepare capital and operational budget for facility.
  • Determine efficient layout for smooth flow of products in and out of warehouse.
  • Promote goodwill and a positive image of the Company.
Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business PLUS 2 years warehouse/operations or 6 years warehouse/operations experience.
  • Proven leadership skills in a supervisory warehouse, operational or related role.
  • Knowledgeable in material handling and inventory documentation.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, supply contracts and shipping requirements.
  • Excellent math and accounting, and financial interpretation skills.
  • Effective communicator to a wide range of people at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain customer and supplier relationships.
  • Ability to project a positive image to customers.
  • Demonstrated product, technical and customer service knowledge.
  • Knowledge in applicable computer software and Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Effective communicator to wide range of people at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills are needed.
  • Willing to travel nationally as required.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
