Job summary

Waterford Hotel Group is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee all hotel operations, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, and Engineering/Maintenance. You will drive guest satisfaction, manage staff, and maximize financial performance while upholding standards.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, an associate degree in a related field, 4 years of guest services/operations experience, and proven payroll/cost controls experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major preferred.
  • 4 years’ experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related area (2 years with an Associate’s degree).
  • Payroll and inventory cost controls experience preferred.
  • Staff management experience is a plus.
  • Must pass a thorough background check.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage and Engineering/Maintenance.
  • Drive guest satisfaction and employee engagement while maximizing financial performance.
  • Publish guest satisfaction results and act on feedback.

The Ideal Candidate for this Position

As a hotel Operations Manager, you will be responsible for providing oversight and staff management, for all functions within the hotel Operations departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage and Engineering/Maintenance. You will strive to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction, and to maximize the financial performance of the department, while ensuring that standards and procedures are consistently being followed.

Your specific duties in this role will include:

  • Creating and nurturing a work environment that emphasizes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, continuous improvement, and a passion for providing service
  • Examining employee and guest satisfaction results, and developing game plans to attack need areas while expanding on areas of strength
  • Publishing all guest satisfaction results in a timely fashion, including all guest satisfaction forms, comment cards. and guest letters
  • Providing excellent customer service by being readily available to and approachable for all guests
  • Addressing guest concerns in a proactive manner
  • Ensuring that all team members meet or exceed all hospitality requirements
  • Assisting in performing required annual Quality audit with GM
  • Ensuring that a viable key control program is in place
  • Reviewing financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement
  • Interviewing candidates and assisting in making hiring decisions
  • Ensuring that orientations for new team members are thorough and completed in a timely fashion
Job Requirements

We are looking for a hotel Operations Manager who combines meticulous professionalism with a friendly, welcoming, and energetic personality. It is important that you are able to effectively manage P&L and financials to ensure your location’s continued profitability. You should also display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as strong customer-service and marketing abilities.

Specific qualifications for the role include:

  • High school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major, a plus
  • 4 years experience (2 years with an Associate’s degree) in the guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
  • Experience in implementing payroll and inventory cost controls
  • Staff management experience, a plus
  • You must be able to pass a thorough background check
