Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse, production, and technical staff; support recruiting and onboarding.

Operations Manager Job Description

Location: Dallas

Pay: $50 - $52 per hour

Position Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) facility, ensuring efficient processing of retired IT equipment through receiving, tracking, data destruction, testing, refurbishment, resale preparation, recycling, and final reporting. This role ensures operational excellence, compliance with environmental and data security standards, and strong service delivery to clients.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in logistics, warehouse operations, electronics processing, data erasure software and compliance-driven environments. They are accountable for productivity, quality, safety, team performance, and continuous improvement across all operational workflows.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
  • - Manage daily operations across all ITAD processing functions, including receiving, inventory control, asset tracking, data sanitization, testing, packaging, shipping, and recycling.
  • - Develop and implement operational procedures to improve throughput, accuracy, quality, and turnaround time.
  • - Monitor workflow capacity and allocate labor and resources to meet production targets and service-level agreements.
  • - Ensure chain-of-custody controls are maintained from asset receipt through final disposition.
  • - Oversee scheduling, facility flow, and coordination between warehouse, technical, logistics, and compliance teams.
Team Management
  • - Lead, supervise, and develop warehouse, production, and technical operations staff.
  • - Set performance expectations, provide coaching, conduct evaluations, and address performance issues as needed.
  • - Support recruiting, onboarding, and training of new employees.
  • - Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
Compliance and Risk Management
  • - Ensure operations comply with all applicable data security, environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • - Maintain adherence to relevant ITAD industry standards and certifications such as R2, NAID, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001, where applicable.
  • - Support internal audits, external certification audits, and client inspections.
  • - Enforce documented processes for secure data destruction, downstream vendor management, hazardous material handling, and disposition reporting.
  • - Investigate operational incidents, implement corrective actions, and maintain required records.
Inventory and Asset Control
  • - Oversee asset intake, reconciliation, serialization, tracking, and reporting within inventory or ERP systems.
  • - Ensure accurate documentation of asset condition, disposition status, and client-specific processing requirements.
  • - Monitor inventory accuracy and conduct routine cycle counts and audits.
  • - Minimize asset loss, misclassification, and processing errors.
Client Service and Reporting
  • - Partner with sales and customer success team teams to ensure client expectations are met.
  • - Support the preparation of operational reports, certificates of data destruction, recycling reports, and performance metrics.
  • - Help resolve client issues related to processing status, exceptions, discrepancies, or turnaround times.
Financial and Process Performance
  • - Manage labor efficiency, departmental productivity, and operational cost controls.
  • - Track and report key performance indicators such as turnaround time, audit accuracy, recovery yield, on-time shipment, and processing volumes.
  • - Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and waste reduction.
  • - Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital equipment planning.
Qualifications
  • - Bachelor s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • - 5+ years of operations, warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or electronics processing experience.
  • - 2+ years of leadership or people management experience.
  • - Experience in ITAD, electronics recycling, reverse logistics, refurbishment, or asset recovery strongly preferred.
  • - Knowledge of data destruction processes, chain-of-custody procedures, and environmental compliance requirements preferred.
  • - Experience working in regulated, audit-driven, or certification-based environments is highly desirable.

  • - Working knowledge of R2, NAID AAA, or ISO standards.
  • - Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement training/certification is a plus.
  • - Forklift certification or experience in warehouse safety programs is a plus.
Working Conditions
  • - Primarily based in a temperature controlled warehouse, processing, and office environment.
  • - May require standing, walking, lifting, and supervising active production areas for extended periods.
  • - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without accommodation.
