Job summary

Central Transport LLC is a leading LTL carrier with a nationwide network and modern fleet. We seek an Operations Manager to lead dock teams, optimize loading, and ensure safe, efficient operations with a focus on customer service and continuous improvement.

The role requires 50 hours per week, night/weekend flexibility, and strong leadership. Salary range is disclosed; benefits include 401k, PTO, insurance, and a performance bonus opportunity.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a team, preferably in transportation operations.
• Strong understanding of the LTL trucking industry.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience required.
• Strong leadership including hiring, coaching, and mentoring.
• Desire to deliver excellent customer service.
• High aptitude for technology.
• Ability to multi-task while staying detail oriented.
• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to work 50 hours per week on average.
• Able to work nights, weekends, and in any weather.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dock operations for the designated section of the terminal dock.
• Manage loading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight sorting.
• Monitor trailer cube and weight for proper load.
• Provide leadership to drivers, dock workers, and dock hands.
• Monitor dock production to meet KPIs.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure compliance with company operational model.
• Support a culture of excellence in product quality for customers.

SHIFT Monday-Friday 5pm-3am (Ending Saturday Morning)

Salary ranges from:

$85,000-$100,000 + 15% bonus opportunity

Operations Manager

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in managing a team, preferably in transportation operations
• A thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience required, preferably in LTL trucking industry
• Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills
• Must be willing to work 50 hours/week average
• Must be able to work any shift including nights and/or weekends and in any weather condition
• Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high pressure environment with multiple priorities
• An associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee dock operations for your designated section of the terminal dock
• This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
