Job summary

Central Transport LLC, a nationwide LTL carrier, seeks an experienced supervisor to oversee terminal operations at a 20-door cross-dock facility in North Carolina. The role focuses on loads, staffing, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Employ independent judgment to build loads based on labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring trailer cube and weight.
• Provide leadership to drivers, dock workers, and dock hands.
• Monitor dock production to meet or exceed KPI goals.
• Maintain safety compliant with DOT/OSHA standards and company procedures.

Shift: 9:00am - 7:00pm, Monday - Friday

Salary: Up to $75,000 + bonus (10%)

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
• Familiar with customs and cross-border transportation
• Strong leadership qualities
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee terminal operations within a 20-door cross dock facility for your designated areas
• This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
• Utilizing your independent judgement to build loads based on available labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
