Job summary

Central Transport LLC in Nashville is actively seeking a dock supervisor to oversee terminal operations in a fast-paced LTL setting. You will manage loading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Ideal candidates bring leadership experience, the ability to hire and coach staff, and flexibility for overtime and night/weekend shifts. An associate or bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a team, preferably in transportation operations.
• Thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry.
• Prior management, dispatch or dock experience, preferably in LTL trucking industry.
• Strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees.
• Willing to work 50 hours/week average.
• Able to work nights/weekends and in any weather conditions.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• High aptitude for technology.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dock operations for your designated section of the terminal dock.
• Loading, manage forklift traffic, and oversee proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring cube and weight of trailers.
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production and KPI goals; manage hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in product quality for customers.

This is an Onsite position at our Nashville, TN Terminal and the candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule of:

Available Shift:

Monday-Friday 5PM-3AM (End Saturday Morning)

Salary ranges from: $60,000-$75,000 + a 5-10% performance bonus

• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills Must be willing to work 50 hours/week average.
• Must be able to work any shift including nights and/or weekends and in any weather condition.
• Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-pressure environment with multiple priorities.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee dock operations for your designated section of the terminal dock.
• This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers.
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility key performance indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers.
