Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee a subspecialty practice and manage day-to-day operations, while supervising a team of exempt and non-exempt staff. The role includes regional oversight of one to two additional sites and responsibility for financial performance.

Candidates should have an Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration or 3+ years of healthcare leadership experience, with a Healthcare Management certification within two years.

Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing a team of non-exempt and exempt employees, while managing the day-to-day operations and financial performance of one subspecialty practice, with additional oversight of one to two other locations within the region.

Responsibilities

• 1. Coordinate daily operations to ensure efficient patient flow and deployment of shared clinical space, in order to maximize patient throughput and minimize wait times.
• 2. Develop and implement standardized operational processes and workflows to optimize efficiency and productivity.
• 3. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
• 4. Recruit, train and retain staff to ensure a high-performing and engaged workforce.
• 5. Responsible for the ongoing development of employee engagement initiatives
• 6. Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies to maximize resource utilization and minimize expenses.
• 7. Build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders, including healthcare providers, administrators, and support staff.
• 8. Serve as a representative of the organization in the regions to enhance visibility and reputation.
• 9. Other duties as assigned.
