Job summary

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc. is seeking an Operations Management Intern for its 2027 Summer Internship Program to give students a hands-on introduction to the lumber industry and a chance to develop frontline management skills in a real production environment.

You will work with supervisors across departments on production flow, scheduling, inventory, treating operations, and quality. You will identify trends, propose improvements, and develop leadership abilities while ensuring safety

Qualifications

• Sophomore or higher pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Operations, Management, Business, Engineering, or related field with a 2.50 GPA or greater.
• Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Work with supervisors and employees across departments to understand daily production operations.
• Identify trends and recommend improvements for plant processes and operations.
• Develop management skills while leading and motivating others.
• Apply company safety, quality, and production rules in daily work.
• Complete projects as assigned.
