Job summary

Alfanar is seeking an experienced transformer maintenance technician in the United States to monitor loading, temperatures, and voltages via SCADA or local control panels, and perform grid maneuvers as needed.

You will conduct routine diagnostics (IR, winding resistance, turns ratio), oil sampling, preventive maintenance, and fault troubleshooting while maintaining logs and coordinating with OEMs for major overhauls.

Qualifications

• Daily monitoring and operation of transformer equipment.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks.
• Conduct insulation resistance, winding resistance, turns ratio tests and oil sampling.
• Troubleshoot faults and respond to alarms to minimize downtime.
• Maintain logs and coordinate with OEMs for overhauls.

Responsibilities

• Daily Monitoring & Operation: Track transformer loading, oil/winding temperatures, and voltage levels using SCADA systems or local control panels. Perform grid maneuvers and switching operations as needed.
• Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Plan and execute routine servicing schedules, clean bushings, check cooling fans/pumps, and replace breather silica gel.
• Testing & Diagnostics: Conduct routine electrical tests such as IR, winding resistance, and turns ratio along with oil sampling (DGA, breakdown voltage, moisture) to detect early faults.
• Fault Troubleshooting: Identify, isolate, and respond to alarms, trip events, or oil leaks to minimize downtime.
• Compliance & Documentation: Maintain equipment logs, track maintenance KPIs, and coordinate with OEMs for major overhauls.
