Job summary

Schweid & Sons in College Park, GA, is seeking an Operations Training & Development Manager to lead the site learning system, drive skill-based learning, and implement just-in-time training across manufacturing operations.

You will own qualification processes, develop curricula, and partner with operations, quality, safety, maintenance, and engineering to embed learning into daily work while measuring impact on skill proficiency and losses reduction.

Qualifications

• Experience leading learning, training, capability building, or continuous improvement systems in manufacturing or operations.
• Ability to conduct skill gap analysis, build curricula, manage training plans, and evaluate learning effectiveness.
• Strong facilitation, coaching, stakeholder management, communication, and change leadership skills.
• Ability to influence leaders and front-line teams across functions without relying solely on authority.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the site learning strategy aligned to business priorities and loss-elimination goals.
• Lead skill needs assessment to identify capability gaps by role and team.
• Translate gaps into an annual training plan with curriculum, trainers, and delivery methods.
• Design and govern performance-based learning solutions such as One Point Lessons and on-the-job training.
• Build and maintain trainer systems, including selection, coaching, and train-the-trainer capability.
• Ensure training programs include clear objectives, requirements, and verification steps.
• Own the qualification process and skill tracking to verify proficiency.
• Partner with operations, quality, safety, maintenance, and engineering to integrate learning into daily work.
• Maintain training materials, records, and learning systems for availability.
• Measure learning effectiveness and reductions in skill-related losses.
• Develop and maintain site skills matrix for knowledge depth.
