Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. in Everett, MA is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead collections activities and build a safety‑driven, high‑performing team.

You will oversee drivers and helpers, collaborate with management to implement efficiency initiatives, and drive onboarding and coaching to ensure policy compliance. The role requires strong communication, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and a CDL with OSHA 10/30 where applicable.

Qualifications

• The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, a clean CDL, an OSHA 10 or 30 card, and be legally eligible to work in the US.
• An associate degree and 2–4 years of supervisory experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership to the operations team and develops team members to help them reach individual goals and create a pipeline for advancement within Casella.
• Oversees drivers and helpers to ensure safety and operational goals are met.
• Partners with the Operations Manager and Division Manager to implement tactical initiatives to drive functional excellence and goal achievement.
• Performs onboarding procedures with newly hired drivers to ensure understanding of Casella’s core values.
• Monitors and coaches driver performance and behaviors, recommending training as needed to ensure policies compliance.
• Investigates all accidents, customer and driver disputes and complaints and ensures documentation is completed per policies.
• Creates logistical plans to reduce route hours using service conversions and container upsizing to improve density and efficiency of routes.
• Participates in training and other opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, and services.
