Job summary

Willing Hands in Norwich, VT, is seeking a Director of Operations to lead warehouse, facilities, fleet, and food recovery logistics in support of its mission to reduce food waste and expand equitable access to fresh food.

In this senior role, you will manage budgets, develop SOPs, supervise staff, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while collaborating with the Executive Director on strategic planning and program expansion.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of operations leadership experience in nonprofit or similar; nonprofit preferred.
• Experience in warehouse, logistics, food systems, or agriculture helpful.
• Ability to translate complex operational needs into simple systems and checklists.
• Budget development, expense management, and financial reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee warehouse, facilities, fleet, and food recovery logistics in line with mission.
• Develop SOPs and supervise staff including multiple coordinators.
• Manage annual operating and capital budgets and financial reporting.
• Ensure safety, food handling standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Support long-term operational planning and strategic planning.
