Job summary

Community FoodBank of New Jersey seeks a Director of Operations to partner with the leadership team and lead day-to-day distribution center operations. Focus areas include inventory management, logistics, compliance, and continuous improvement to support CFBNJ's strategic plan.

The role requires 5+ years of leadership in large-scale distribution, strong communication skills, and experience with WMS/CRM systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience managing large-scale distribution, warehouse, or supply chain operations.
• Strong communication and analytical abilities.
• Experience with WMS and CRM systems.
• Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop distribution center managers and team members.
• Oversee receiving, storage, inventory management, and distribution operations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, OSHA, USDA, Feeding America, and other regulatory requirements.
• Establish and monitor KPIs to drive operational performance and accountability.
• Maintain and improve SOPs, procedures, and workflow documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and service levels.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve processes and resolve operational challenges.
• Optimize inventory flow and inbound/outbound distribution activities.
• Support leadership development, employee performance, and team engagement.
• Communicate operational risks, opportunities, and business needs to senior leadership.
