Job summary

Flagstaff Family Food Center is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to lead safe, efficient movement of roughly 8 million pounds of food annually. This hands-on, working-manager role directs employees and volunteers across receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, loading, and distribution to ensure a compliant, organized, and inspection-ready facility.

Qualifications

Minimum five years in warehouse/logistics or related operations.
Minimum three years supervisory experience.
Demonstrated ability to lead high-volume, fast-paced warehouse operations.
Willingness to perform physical warehouse work with staff and volunteers.
Working knowledge of inventory control, food rotation, receiving, storage, and distribution.
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, temperature control, and workplace safety requirements.
Experience supervising employees and coordinating volunteers.
Strong planning, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Direct daily receiving, inspection, sorting, storage, picking, staging, loading, and distribution activities.
Lead employees and volunteers on the warehouse floor while supporting receiving, inventory, and distribution.
Coordinate handling of approximately 8 million pounds of food annually.
Plan warehouse layout and workflow for safety, productivity, storage, and accessibility.
Maintain organized dry, refrigerated, and frozen storage areas.
Coordinate inbound donations, deliveries, agency orders, and community distributions.
Monitor dock activity and material-handling practices.
Ensure first-expired, first-out product rotation and proper disposal of unusable items.
Coordinate fleet use, delivery schedules, and equipment maintenance.
