Job summary

Starbucks Coffee Company's Chicago Roastery seeks a Director of Operations to lead its largest, highest-volume location, shaping strategy, culture, and performance. You will build and coach leaders, drive operational excellence, and deliver premium customer and partner experiences across a complex retail environment.

Collaborating across the Roastery and broader Starbucks, you will steer initiatives, partnerships, and financial results to elevate the Starbucks Reserve experience in Chicago,

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience leading large, complex, customer-facing operations.
• Proven track record of developing high-performing leaders and teams.
• Strong business and financial acumen, including experience managing sales, profitability, labor, and inventory in high-volume environments.
• Experience operating in a matrixed organization with multi-unit leadership.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and change-management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Chicago Roastery business – provide strategic and operational leadership for Roastery operations, driving performance and customer experiences.
• Develop leaders, teams, and culture – coach and grow a high-performing leadership group and foster accountability and collaboration.
• Drive execution and immersive experiences – lead strategic initiatives and large-scale events that elevate the Starbucks Reserve brand.
• Champion the Starbucks Reserve experience and community presence – reinforce premium branding and community engagement.
• Build cross-functional partnerships and influence enterprise decisions – align stakeholders and advocate for Roastery needs in a matrixed environment.
