Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee collections activities and lead the team toward safety and efficiency goals in the US. The role emphasizes developing talent, onboarding drivers, and partnership with management to drive operational excellence.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a clean CDL, OSHA 10/30, and strong communication skills, with an associate degree and 2–4 years supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Clean CDL license.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
• Associate degree and 2–4 years’ supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead operations team and develop team members to assist in reaching goals and create a pipeline for advancement within Casella.
• Oversee drivers and helpers to ensure safety and goals are met.
• Partner with Operations Manager and Division Manager to implement initiatives for functional excellence and goal achievement.
• Onboard newly hired drivers to ensure understanding of Casella’s core values.
• Monitor and coach driver performance and behaviors; recommend training as needed.
• Investigate accidents, disputes and complaints and document per policies.
• Develop logistics plans to reduce route hours using service conversions and container upsizing.
• Participate in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge and drive the company vision.
