Description du poste

About us

Pickle is a talent partner for fast-growing businesses. We help ambitious founders and leadership teams hire exceptional people across operations, product, technology, customer success, commercial, finance, and executive leadership.

We specialise in identifying high-quality permanent and contractor talent that can make an immediate impact, supporting businesses through key growth stages with a thoughtful, consultative approach to hiring. Whether it's a critical leadership appointment or building out an entire function, we work as an extension of our clients' teams to find people who combine the right skills, mindset, and cultural fit.

We believe great hiring goes beyond matching CVs to job descriptions. It's about understanding how businesses operate, what success looks like, and connecting them with people who will help them grow for the long term.

About our client and the role

Location: Remote first
Contract: Employed, Full-time hours

About the role

You'll build the systems that keep a growing technology business running smoothly, automating repetitive processes and improving how the business operates. Working directly with the CEO, you'll take ownership of day-to-day business operations and leadership processes, ensure people and compliance essentials are well managed, and use automation and AI to support the business as it scales and launches new products.

You'll also work closely with the leadership team to help them manage their respective areas effectively, allowing the CEO to focus on strategic priorities rather than day-to-day operational matters.

This role suits an operator who is also technically minded, equally comfortable running things and building things. You'll be proactive, energetic and solutions-focused, with the confidence to make decisions with incomplete information. You're someone who enjoys creating structure, building your own automations, cares about team culture, communicates openly and takes ownership of problems from start to finish.

About the business

We're a growing technology business focused on using technology to create meaningful connections and make a positive social impact.

Our digital products and fundraising initiatives have helped generate significant contributions for charitable causes, and we're excited about the next stage of our growth as we continue to develop our products and expand our impact.

What you'll do
  • Build and maintain the automations, dashboards and AI agent workflows that support business operations.
  • Identify repetitive processes and automate them to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
  • Own the leadership operating rhythm, including weekly leadership meeting preparation and actions, monthly KPI reporting, quarterly planning and maintaining a central decision log.
  • Track delivery against business priorities, ensuring operational activities keep pace with product and engineering developments.
  • Coordinate shared operational processes with external business partners.
  • Ensure the business is operationally prepared for key seasonal periods and major product launches.
  • Support team processes, onboarding and company culture in partnership with the CEO.
  • Help department leads take ownership of their respective areas by establishing clear processes, responsibilities and decision-making routes.
  • Oversee essential business operations, including people processes, data protection, systems access and relevant UK compliance requirements.
What you'll need
  • At least 3 years' experience in operations, with evidence of building processes and systems that others rely on.
  • Practical experience building automations or dashboards using no-code tools or AI, with examples of solutions that remain in use.
  • Strong technical confidence, including familiarity with no-code platforms, basic SQL and working collaboratively with engineering teams.
  • Experience using AI agents as part of everyday workflows, rather than simply using standard AI tools.
  • Experience managing team processes, onboarding and/or culture initiatives.
  • A proven ability to identify problems and take ownership of resolving them end to end.
  • Confidence making sound decisions quickly, even when working with incomplete information.
  • Previous experience in a startup or fast-growing business is highly desirable, particularly in an operational leadership or COO-type capacity within an early-stage business or smaller organisation.
  • A strong appreciation for organisation, attention to detail and well-designed systems.
  • Experience managing people-related or compliance processes accurately and reliably.
  • Experience working with UK-based businesses or clients.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and follow through on actions.
  • Experience within the charity, fundraising or social impact sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
Perks and benefits
  • Competitive salary
  • Local regulation annual leave plus public holidays
  • Remote-first working, with flexibility outside core meetings
  • A high-ownership role with a clear path to more responsibility
Values
  • Meaning Matters: build something meaningful with people who care.
  • Go Hard and Go Home: work hard for a mission you care about, while protecting the things that matter outside work.
  • Grow Faster Than the Company: we invest in people who want to grow with the company.
  • Mop the Floor: extreme ownership. If you see something that needs doing, take responsibility for it.
  • What boss?: our customers are the real boss. Build around their needs and experience.
