Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a hands-on supervisor to lead a team responsible for on-time, damage-free shipments. You will coach staff, monitor safety performance, and drive continuous improvements in a fast-paced dock environment, with emphasis on quality and customer service.

Knowledge of LTL industry, DOT and OSHA regulations is preferred. You will plan daily manpower, set schedules, communicate assignments clearly, support rate quotes and claims, monitor performance data for reporting, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication.
• Knowledge of LTL industry, DOT rules, OSHA laws, NMFC and Tariff rules.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, educate and develop employees with focus on retention and growth.
• Supervise and direct employee work with emphasis on quality, safety, and customer delivery.
• Plan daily manpower needs and set schedules to ensure on-time freight delivery and pickup.
• Communicate job assignments clearly with all employees.
• Monitor service freight and ensure cut time compliance.
• Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information and setting appointments.
• Monitor performance data and prepare reports.
• Build relationships with business partners to meet service standards.
• Identify freight weights and classifications; ensure OS&D is identified and processed.
• Perform administrative functions and comply with laws and company policies.
