Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Supervisory role to lead dock employees, ensuring shipments move on time and without damage while upholding safety standards. You will educate staff, plan daily manpower, and coordinate with teams to meet service levels.

The position requires strong communication, knowledge of LTL/DOT/OSHA rules, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Solid knowledge of LTL industry, DOT rules/regulations, OSHA laws, Hazardous Materials Regulations, NMFC and Tariff rules, and company policies.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Multi-tasking oriented with good organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, educate and develop employees focusing on retention and growth.
• Supervise and direct employee work with focus on quality, delivery and safety.
• Monitor unsafe acts/conditions and apply corrective actions.
• Plan daily manpower and set schedules for on-time, damage-free freight.
• Communicate assignments clearly and coordinate with staff.
• Monitor service freight and ensure cut time compliance.
• Identify opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies while maintaining safety.
• Assist customers with rate quotes, claims information and appointments.
• Gather data for reporting and monitor performance.
• Build relationships with business partners to meet service standards.
• Identify freight misclassifications and ensure proper processing.
• Ensure OS&D is identified and processed correctly.
• Perform administrative functions as required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
