Job summary

Carrix, Inc./SSA Marine, Inc. seeks an Operations Labor Manager to direct and coordinate labor resources, ensuring safe, cost-effective operations and compliance with policies and CBAs.

You will lead a diverse workforce, plan staffing and equipment, enforce safety and regulatory requirements, and report on performance and incidents across multiple terminals. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; equivalent management experience considered.
• Preferably 3 years managing employees in a comparable environment.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain TWIC card.
• Current CPR certification.
• Working knowledge of terminal operations, cargo stowage and stability.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Familiarity with computerized terminal operating systems.
• Knowledge of applicable safety and accident-prevention codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Directs hiring, assignment, evaluation, discipline, and termination of labor personnel.
• Directs work of foremen and supervisory staff per requirements.
• Interprets and enforces collective bargaining agreements.
• Investigates safety incidents and labor complaints; reports to senior management.
• Plans workforce composition and equipment needs for operations.
• Manages deployment of labor and equipment during shifts.
• Monitors productivity and implements corrective actions.
• Ensures compliance with HAZMAT, OSHA and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinates with vessel personnel, customers, and terminal staff.
• Prepares payroll, safety, and damage reports.
