Job summary

Johnsonville Sausage, LLC in Holton, KS is seeking an Operations Intern for the 2027 summer. You will join the Operations Team and work with plant leadership to roll out standardizations across facilities, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to real projects.

You will review SOPs, analyze plant workflows, and support performance tracking with data such as OEE and downtime. Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's in Engineering, Business, or Operations Management, be juniors or seniors

Qualifications

Candidate must be working towards a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Operations Management.
Junior or senior status preferred.
Minimum 3.0 overall GPA.

Responsibilities

Review Standard Operating Procedures for consistency across all facilities.
Gain hands-on experience with plant workflows by collaborating with production, quality, maintenance, sanitation, safety, and reliability functions.
Participate in or lead projects to streamline processes, reduce waste, boost efficiency, and enhance quality.
Collect and analyze OEE and downtime to support performance tracking and decision-making.
Make recommendations to improve and strengthen existing SOPs.
Work independently and with multiple site Operations Teams.
Develop knowledge of daily operations activities.
Maintain accurate work records in notebooks and project reports.
Share ideas and results with teammates.
