Job summary

Dow is offering an engineering internship focused on providing technical support to plant operations and troubleshooting manufacturing processes at Dow’s U.S. sites.

Interns will assist with preventive and predictive maintenance, process improvements, and project implementations across multiple engineering disciplines, while gaining exposure to real-world operations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Materials Engineering (preferred)
• Ability to work legally in the United States
• No visa sponsorship available, including for green card processes
• Willingness to relocate anywhere in the U.S. outside of specified preference
• Reliable transportation to/from the job site daily
• Willing to adhere to TWIC credentialing if placed at a TWIC facility
• Rising college sophomores and juniors (preferred)
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Enrolled in ABET-accredited program (preferred)
• Active participation and leadership in extracurricular activities (preferred)
• Previous internship/co-op experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to plant operating personnel to maintain safe, reliable operations
• Troubleshoot manufacturing and power plant processes and solve operational problems
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance, failure analysis, and process improvements
• Improve yield, reduce waste, enhance safety, optimize costs, and implement process controls
• Manage and implement projects, equipment designs, and new technologies
• Perform engineering work across Dow Operations departments (chemical, mechanical, civil, electrical, or materials)
• Design concrete, structural steel, site development plans, vessels, piping, MCCs, transformers, switchgear, and electrical instrumentation
• Collaborate with construction, procurement, project management, project engineering, project controls, process engineering, process automation, facility teams, engineers, and designers
• Select effective materials for projects and daily maintenance
• Work at assigned Dow manufacturing sites and maintain reliable attendance
