Job summary

Mercury Marine in Brownsburg, IN is offering an Operations Management Intern role onsite. You will lead a small team on the distribution floor, learn to optimize Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost, and drive lean improvements across the operation during a May–August 2027 internship.

Qualifications

• Permanent US work authorization required.
• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program in Operations Management, Manufacturing Management, Supply-Chain or related field.
• Minimum second semester sophomore with 48 credits completed.
• Availability to work full-time (40+ hours/week) May–August 2027.
• GPA 3.0 or greater.
• Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills.
• Ability to resolve conflict with diplomacy and tact.
• Lead by example with policy enforcement and consistency.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise a small team of warehouse associates.
• Understand and manage key metrics: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost.
• Partner with operations to apply lean manufacturing techniques and improvements.
• Establish work procedures and assign duties to meet production schedules.
• Periodically check progress and ensure job expectations are met.
• Interpret company policy to employees and enforce safety rules.
• Review employee performance and provide feedback to management.
• Provide regular status updates to upper management.
• Hold regular meetings with warehouse associates and drive engagement.
