Job summary

Interfor is offering an Operations Intern position in Fayette, Alabama. The role provides hands-on experience in a modern manufacturing environment, focusing on sawmill operations, production processes, and safety.

You’ll work with experienced professionals to develop leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills during a May start for a 4–8 month term. Ideal candidates are pursuing degrees in Wood Products Processing, Business, or Engineering-related fields and are proficient with Excel,

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree or diploma in a related program such as Wood Products Processing, Business, Operations Management, Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical), or Supply Chain.
• Strong interest in manufacturing operations and process improvement.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools to analyze data and communicate results.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and learn how a modern sawmill operates.
• Explore production processes and how teams work together to produce quality wood products safely.
• Contribute to projects focused on process improvement, operational efficiency, and production performance.
• Analyze data and observations to identify opportunities for improvement across mill operations.

This is an on-site internship with an anticipated start date in May. Ideally, you’ll be available for a 4- to 8-month term.

• Salaries starting from $3,700 per month (based on your year in school and previous experience).
• Temporary living allowance for interns moving to the area for the role.
