Job summary

Interfor is offering an Operations Intern position in Molalla, Oregon. This on-site internship runs for 4 to 8 months, with an anticipated May start date.

You will work alongside experienced professionals, gain practical skills, and contribute to process improvement in a modern sawmill environment. You’ll learn how materials, equipment, technology, and teams come together for safe, efficient production and leadership development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree or diploma in a relevant program such as Wood Products Processing, Business, Operations Management, Engineering (Industrial/Mechanical) or Supply Chain.
• Committed to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Curious, hands-on and eager to learn how a manufacturing operation works.
• Clear communicator and able to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and learn how a modern sawmill operates.
• Explore production processes and how teams work together to safely produce quality wood products.
• Contribute to projects focused on process improvement, operational efficiency and production performance.
• Analyze data and observations to identify opportunities for improvement across mill operations.
• Work alongside experienced operations professionals while building leadership and analytical skills.

• You are working toward a degree or diploma in Wood Products Processing, Business, Operations Management, Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical), Supply Chain, or another industry-related program.

• You communicate clearly and enjoy working with employees across different teams and departments.
• You are comfortable reviewing information, asking questions, and helping solve problems.
