Job summary

Hawai‘i Gas is seeking an Operations Field Safety Specialist/Manager to oversee field safety initiatives across statewide operations. This role focuses on implementing safety programs, coaching field crews, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The position may be filled at Specialist or Manager level based on qualifications and business needs. The candidate will lead safety investigations, develop training, and coordinate with Operations and EHS partners to promote safe work practices across

Qualifications

• Requires field experience in safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Preferred: Bachelor's in OH&S, Engineering, Chemistry or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provides field safety support during planning and execution of field projects.
• Instructs employees on safe work practices and hazard correction.
• Conducts field/site inspections, audits, and incident investigations statewide.
• Prepares job hazard analyses for work plans and field projects.
• Develops safety communications including toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Leads investigations for injuries, near misses, and safety concerns.
