Job summary

Surgery Partners seeks a Manager, Operational Excellence based at our Brentwood, TN corporate office. This hybrid role requires on-site work Monday through Wednesday to lead performance improvements across the organization and to coordinate cross-functional initiatives.

You will analyze operational, clinical, and financial data, develop practical solutions, and partner with leaders to deliver measurable results driving productivity and cost effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in consulting, operations, performance improvement, finance, healthcare services, or related disciplines.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and comfort working with large data sets.
• Experience leading discrete projects or workstreams from problem definition through analysis, recommendation, and implementation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build clear, well‑structured presentations for senior leaders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams, stakeholders, deadlines, and dependencies in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization and build credibility with operational and functional leaders.
• Proficiency with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Agile, or similar structured problem‑solving and continuous improvement concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational excellence initiatives that improve efficiency, service quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Apply structured problem‑solving to diagnose root causes, evaluate solutions, and develop practical implementation plans.
• Develop project work‑plans, milestones, deliverables, track progress, and escalate risks.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams and hold teams accountable for actions and outcomes.
• Support standardized processes, operating rhythms, tools, and best‑practice materials for consistency and scalability.
• Balance analytical rigor with practical implementation, adapting recommendations to realities and stakeholder needs.
• Partner with facility, market, division, and corporate leaders to address operational challenges and develop solutions.
• Prepare materials for working sessions, business reviews, and executive updates; help lead discussions.
• Build relationships across the organization; support pilots and translate data into concrete actions with owners and timelines.
• Identify barriers to implementation and work with partners to resolve or escalate them.
• Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities; size and prioritize improvements for productivity and cost savings.
• Design dashboards and scorecards with the data team to provide actionable insights.
• Translate findings into clear conclusions, recommendations, and practical action plans.
