Job summary

H.B. Fuller Company seeks an Operations Engineering Intern for its Fridley, MN facility.

You will support manufacturing, maintenance, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives in a production environment, leading projects to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency. The role offers hands-on experience, collaboration with multiple teams, and exposure to Lean Six Sigma and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Rising junior or senior standing in one of the listed engineering disciplines.
• Comfortable working in a production or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Support Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Assist with maintenance and reliability projects, including preventive maintenance optimization, asset management, and critical spare parts strategies.
• Analyze production, maintenance, and quality data to identify trends, solve problems, and drive sustainable operational improvements.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, equipment drawings, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs.
• Lead cross-functional projects across operations, maintenance, quality, and safety, presenting recommendations and results to site leadership.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
