Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join our Operations Engineering team to design, optimize, and scale manufacturing systems for Terran R.

You will apply Lean Six Sigma, data analysis, and simulations to improve safety, quality, and throughput while collaborating with cross-functional teams across propulsion, manufacturing, software, and logistics. The role requires 2+ years in industrial engineering and a hands-on, problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 2+ years of industrial engineering experience with capacity planning and operations management.
• Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., A3, 8D, root cause analysis).
• Proficient in data analysis using Excel and SQL; familiarity with PowerBI and simulation tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration across technical and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement improvements in safety, quality, productivity, logistics, and ergonomics using data analysis and Lean methods.
• Develop and maintain operational metrics, dashboards, and audit tools across manufacturing and distribution.
• Create and optimize capacity plans, work center layouts, and material flow strategies.
• Develop standard operating procedures and workflow designs to improve workforce efficiency and ensure safety compliance.
• Lead system and process enhancements, including automation pilot projects and data integrity improvements.
