Job summary

Relativity Space, Inc. in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II for Primary Structures to help turn design into reality for Terran R.

You will contribute to design for manufacturability, work with design, manufacturing, and reliability engineers, and support production on the shop floor. You will develop work instructions, champion process improvements across work centers, and help standardize manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, aeronautical, mechanical engineering or other engineering discipline.
• 2+ years progressive and related experience required.
• Strong history of supporting complicated assembly builds and risk decisions to keep production moving.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with engineering and manufacturing groups to improve manufacturability.
• Strong fundamentals in statics, mechanics of materials, process improvement, fastening and joining, machining.
• Expert knowledge of drilling, trim ops, and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Provide Design for Manufacturing feedback to structures teams during development and builds.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, reliability engineers, and vendors to drive progress.
• Cover the shop floor for all primary structure work center assembly work, keeping production moving.
• Champion process improvements across multiple work centers to improve assembly operations.
• Create work instructions, specifications, and best practices across high-fidelity processes.
