Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Operations Engineer in Irving, TX to lead the lifecycle of complex cross-functional projects, focusing on sortation and distribution solutions. You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely handover and execution, while navigating travel and relocation needs.

You will work with a team of engineers across design, development, and delivery of material handling systems, managing schedules, risks, and milestones to meet project goals and uphold

Qualifications

• Will travel domestically up to 75% of the time.
• Willingness to relocate within commuting distance of a corporate office.

Responsibilities

• Work independently with internal and external teams to manage project lifecycles and deliver on objectives.
• Participate in engineering reviews and influence system architectures and facility processes.
• Set priorities with stakeholders and drive milestones and schedules to meet deadlines.
• Lead execution of system and equipment designs, performing installation, throughput, and safety qualifications.
• Lead meetings with clear objectives and document decisions and next steps for alignment.
• Communicate project status, risk analysis, and mitigation plans to leadership.
• Articulate system/equipment designs to internal customers and partners.
• Manage change orders, purchase orders, and invoice approvals.
• Build strong relationships across projects and drive cross-team collaboration.
• Identify and lead process improvements to increase efficiency.
