Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Operations Engineer in Boston to lead and manage the lifecycle of complex cross-functional projects for next-generation sortation and distribution solutions. You will partner with internal teams and external vendors, manage schedules, risks, and hand‑offs, and ensure on-time delivery across multiple sites.

The role requires 75% regional travel, relocation flexibility, and time in corporate offices when not traveling.

Responsibilities

Lead lifecycle of challenging projects with internal/external teams and act as owner in delivering on objectives
Participate in firm engineering reviews and influence solutions at system and facility levels
Set priorities, milestones, and schedules with stakeholders and drive alignment
Coordinate execution delivering systems and automated equipment designs per standards
Lead meetings with clear objectives and decisions and document outcomes
Communicate project status, risk analyses, and mitigation plans to leadership
Explain system and equipment designs to internal customers and partners
Manage change orders, purchase orders, and invoice approvals
Build strong relationships across multiple projects and teams
Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance engineering efficiency
