Job summary

Legends Global is seeking an Operations Crew Member at Fishers Event Center to support event setup, teardown, and facility maintenance. The role involves heavy lifting, standing for long periods, and working outside normal hours based on events.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED and some related experience; ice maintenance experience is preferred. The position offers full-time hours and a comprehensive benefits package in a fast-paced venue environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. and 1–3 months related experience, or equivalent.
• Ice maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of arena, facility, or event operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and event management software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setup and teardown for events, including flooring, chairs, walls, barricades, and tables.
• Load/unload delivery trucks and replenish supplies during operations.
• Perform cleaning and janitorial tasks before and after events, including sweeping and mopping.
• Support maintenance tasks such as painting, lighting, and ceiling tile replacement.
• Collaborate with engineers and subcontractors on building maintenance.
• Report safety issues or property discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Coordinate with temporary staff and ensure coverage for events.
• Work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ice rink related maintenance and repair tasks as required.

THE ROLE

Fishers Event Center has an excellent and immediate opening for a full-time Operations Crew Member. Under general supervision, performs work as needed to clean, maintain and prepare for events at the facility. Duties include skilled and semi-skilled tasks, which often require heavy lifting and a high degree of physical exertion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of the conversion process in preparation for events. Duties may include setting up and tearing down flooring, portable chairs, operable wall, barricades, staging, tables, other furnishings and equipment


• Perform varies duties to ensure the day-to-day operations of the facility are met. These include, but not limited to, loading/unloading delivery trucks, transporting trash and waste to proper disposal area and replenishing supplies


• Assist with pre/post event cleaning and janitorial tasks including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, stripping, carpet cleaning, window washing and waxing


• Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, patching, re-lamping, replacing ceiling tile, replacing filters, etc


• Assist building engineers and subcontractors in construction, repair and maintenance of the building


• Report irregularities, discrepancies, safety or damage concerns or loss of property promptly to supervisor


• Assist in leading temporary labor and part time team members on various tasks


• Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed


• Assist in ice maintenance and repair, installing/taking out ice, hockey wall maintenance, and any ice rink systems related maintenance and repair


• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or G.E.D. and one (1) to three (3) months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Experience with ice maintenance and/or ice resurfacing machine preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of arena, facility, or event operations.


• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and facility systems.


• Excellent organizational and project management skills.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced event environment.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational software systems.


• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular schedules based on event activity.


• Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
