Job summary

$37,843 - $41,086

Basic Function:

Provides customer service, administrative and technical support for the Performing Arts Center and other events on the Tuscarawas campus. Coordinates daily business functions and assists with special projects and events. Reports to designated supervisor.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:

Provide customer service to guest patrons face-to-face at the Box Office; independently respond to inquiries and resolve problems.

Coordinate hospitality and lodging for all visiting artists:

• Serve as liaison with University Culinary Services (UCS).
• Identify needs not met by UCS and fulfill them locally.
• Communicate arrival and departure times with local hotel.
• Arrange local ground transportation.

Maintain financial records and associated accounting processes. Balance daily ticket sales, process bank deposits, and be responsible for all daily reconciliation using CASHnet.

Coordinate and provide support (e.g., technical, operational, etc.) for theatre productions, events and activities scheduled on campus, including resolving issues.

Execute setup of lighting/sound equipment for assigned area; help set up and strike lighting fixtures, speakers, microphones, cables, mixing consoles, and related equipment. Assist with mixing live events or monitor audio levels. Set up lighting consoles and assist with programming cues.

Meet with internal and external clients (e.g. department heads, faculty, staff, community members, show managers, performers, etc.) in person or electronic communication regarding details of events and make suggestions regarding additional services. Communicate with relevant campus areas regarding details and needed services for events.

Represent department during on-site events including on evenings and weekends.

Train and supervise students and/or provide functional guidance of support staff or other employees.

Represent department on various campus committees.

As needed, act as the box office manager during regular business hours and at events.

Assist with special projects.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or one year of experience may be substituted for each year of the education requirement; three months relevant experience.

License/Certification:

Knowledge Of:

• Basic accounting procedures and principles
• Theatrical sound & lighting principles

Skill In:

• Interpersonal communication to effectively interact with the general public in person and over the telephone

• Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook)
