Job summary

FirstEnergy, through Jersey Central Power and Light (JCP&L), is seeking a Clerk II for the Distribution Control Center in Holmdel, NJ. The role operates on an afternoon shift (3pm-11pm) with a Sunday-Monday, Thursday-Saturday schedule; Tuesday and Wednesday off. Starting pay is $26.89/hr, top rate $33.59/hr, with overtime as needed.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of relevant experience, along with SASS test passage and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two (2) years of pertinent and qualifying experience and/or training in a similar type and line of work.
• Must pass the Edison Electric Institute SASS test
• Must interact in a professional and courteous manner with customers, coworkers, and management at all times.
• Must exercise a moderate degree of judgement under direct supervision.
• Work requires considerable skill operating automated office equipment.
• Excellent phone, verbal and written communication skills.
• Required to work overtime as needed, including emergency situations.
• Must be familiar with the company’s safety rules applicable to this and related jobs.

Responsibilities

• Sorts and distributes mail and other material; compiles data and enters or accesses records; copies facts or figures; files and collates.
• Prepare, maintain, enter or access operating records, logs, charts, or lists; follow company policy in the department.
• Make routine adjustments to differences in daily cash reports; interact with banks and customers as needed.
• Data entry and processing; transcribe dictation; transcribe meeting minutes; operate office equipment.
• Handle telephone calls and schedule appointments.
• Perform messenger tasks as needed.
• Be adaptable to other work within the same group during interruptions or emergencies.
