Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking candidates for an open CSR position at Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) in Hopatcong, NJ. The role reports to the Supervisor, Revenue Operations and offers a starting pay of $22.73 per hour with top rate $28.41; CSR III progression can reach $38.42.

Responsibilities include handling customer service requests, processing payments, cash handling, delinquent account work, and reporting. Occasional travel to support other Northern payment centers may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• Must pass Edison Electric Institute SASS test.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Willing to work overtime, including emergencies after 9 months.

Responsibilities

• Receive customer service requests and prepare service activation/deactivation paperwork.
• Interact with customers at Payment Windows.
• Accept deposits and payments, balance cash drawer, and prepare bank deposits.
• Make calls for delinquent accounts and assist field collectors.
• Prepare orders for record corrections, field investigation, and collection documents.
• Handle admin tasks for active and inactive accounts.
• Multi-task duties while answering calls from Field Collectors.
• Process and respond to customer inquiries.
• Review delinquent accounts and monitor collection activity.
• Prepare reports on delinquent accounts receivable.
• Travel occasionally to assist Northern payment centers.
