Job summary

Verst Logistics in Hebron, AL seeks a 2nd shift Customer Service/Logistics Associate to handle order processing, invoicing, and responding to customer inquiries. Strong communication and computer literacy are essential; experience with RF guns and Yard Management Systems is a plus.

Duties include dispatching drivers, preparing shipping documents, maintaining records, and supporting accounts receivable. 2:00 PM–10:30 PM shift; hourly rate $20.50 with a $1 shift differential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Previous Inventory Control, Quality, or related experience preferred.
• Project driven and detail oriented attitude.
• Experience in Automotive environment preferred.
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement/Lean techniques preferred.
• SOX compliance familiarity preferred.
• SDS/Hazmat safety familiarity preferred.
• Willingness to learn internal customer service software applications.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
• Computer literacy; ability to type 30 wpm; working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Maintain strong relationships with customers by researching and responding to inquiries about work orders, invoices, shipments, and inventory.
• Input customer orders into the system and generate related paperwork for customers and warehouse use.
• Verify invoices and ensure proper invoicing for customers.
• Act as liaison between warehouse and customer regarding invoicing and collection concerns.
• Maintain an updated procedures manual for processing requirements per account.
• Report customer feedback and trends to management in a timely manner.
• Answer calls and operate office machines/computers as needed.
• Create accurate reports as requested by management or customers.
• Prepare documents such as bills of lading and shipping orders.
• Use RF gun and update product quantities; utilize Yard Management System (YMS).
• Dispatch drivers and maintain a driver check-in/out log.
• Batch and sort order pick tickets.
• Provide on-the-job training for new hires.
• Assist in accounts receivable collections where applicable.
• Strive for continuous process improvement.
• Perform cycle counts or inventory verification.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

1. 1. Maintain excellent working relationships with customers by researching and responding to all inquiries and issues concerning work orders, invoices, shipments, inventory counts, etc., in a courteous, professional and efficient manner.
2. 2. Process and accurately input all customer orders into the computer system and generate all related paperwork and necessary information required for customer and warehouse purposes.
3. 3. Ensure proper invoicing of customers by verifying computer generated invoices.
4. 4. Act as a liaison between the warehouse and the customer in administration of accounts, and between the office and customer regarding invoicing and collection concerns.
5. 5. Maintain a current and accurate procedures manual that details the processing requirements for each account.
6. 6. Report customer feedback to management in a timely manner, including any signs or trends of customer dissatisfaction.
7. 7. Answer telephone calls and operate various types of office machines and computers necessary to perform duties.
8. 8. Create accurate and timely reports as requested by management or customers.
9. 9. Maintain paperwork and prepare documents, such as bills of lading and shipping orders.
10. 10.Use RF gun and/or complete proper forms as required to maintain and update product quantities.
11. 11.Use of the Yard Management System (YMS).
12. 12.Responsible for dispatching drivers and maintaining a driver check in/out log.
