Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Pennington, Alabama, seeks a Performance Development Leader to guide a 25+-person Woodyard Operations team at Naheola Mill. You will coach, mentor, and develop hourly staff to raise capability and performance while aligning with mill goals and our Operations Excellence framework.

You will foster principled business ownership, support long-term value creation, and collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and other mill leaders to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience leading people in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Ability to work extended hours and rotating weekend duty.
• Experience developing and coaching hourly production staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and foster an environment that develops principled business owners who can identify learning opportunities while optimizing equipment performance.
• Lead development and implementation of employee performance, skills and capability advancement programs.
• Develop employees through coaching, mentoring, training programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Ensure roles, responsibilities and expectations align with department and mill goals to maximize long-term value.
• Hold teams and individuals accountable for operating strategies and results.
• Develop processes promoting knowledge transfer across the department.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, pulp and woodyard teams to address capability gaps.
