Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Performance Development Leader to guide a 25+ member Woodyard Operators team at Naheola Paper Manufacturing in Pennington, Alabama. You will influence team capability, operational excellence, and long-term performance through coaching and development.

This role partners with the Woodyard Department Production Leader, mentors hourly staff, and works with Manufacturing Engineers to raise operator capability using Principled-Based Management and Operations Excellence

Qualifications

Experience leading teams in manufacturing environments.
Ability to develop and coach hourly employees.
Willingness to work extended hours and rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

Lead and foster an environment that develops principled business owners who can identify learning and development opportunities while optimizing equipment performance.
Lead the development and implementation of employee performance, skills, qualifications, and capability advancement programs.
Develop employees through coaching, mentoring, training programs, and knowledge-sharing initiatives that strengthen individual and team performance.
Ensure roles, responsibilities, and expectations are aligned with department, mill, and organizational goals to maximize long-term value creation.
Hold teams and individuals accountable for operating strategies and results.
Develop processes and systems that promote the transfer of knowledge across the department.
Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, pulp and woodyard team members, and other mill leaders to identify and address technician capability and performance gaps.
