Job summary

Back-House, based in NYC, seeks an Operations Associate to run daily financial operations for a portfolio of independent restaurants, including bill pay, payroll, and reporting.

You will turn bespoke tasks into scalable processes, manage high-volume calendars, and contribute to client strategy toward an Account Manager role. Hybrid exposure to NYC hospitality clients is a plus, with healthcare stipend and vacation benefits.

Qualifications

• Exceptional organization; able to manage high-volume inboxes and calendars.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks Online, MarginEdge, Toast, Square, or ADP is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Based in the U.S., able to work EST hours, and travel on-site to NYC locations.
• Path to client strategy and future Account Manager role.
• Exposure to NYC's top independent restaurants.

Responsibilities

• Bill Pay: Execute bill-payment cycles across a portfolio of clients.
• Payroll Administration: Process weekly payroll through Toast, Square, or ADP, including adjustments and tip-pooling distributions.
• Reporting & Compliance: Generate and distribute weekly Flash Reports and monthly P&L recaps with commentary.
• Automation & Efficiency: Implement automated triggers for AP reporting and P&L commentary to reduce manual touchpoints.
• Inbox & Calendar Management: Manage high-volume client inboxes and calendars and meet deadlines.
• Template & Asset Management: Maintain templates (MSAs, SOWs, onboarding decks, client deliverables).
• Cross-Functional Contribution: Support projects and strategic priorities with operational input.
