OPERATIONS ASSISTANT MANAGER IN TRAINING

This role is responsible for assisting with all operational tasks within the store as delegated and assigned by the Store Manager, with a main focus on the front-end and sales floor operations. You will also assist with the hiring, training, and development of store associates as delegated by the Store Manager.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities as directed by the Store Manager.
  2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
  3. Assist in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
  4. Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
  5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
  6. Maintain all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
  7. When the Store Manager is not on the premises, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
  8. Process all SSC Corporate directives related to store activities as delegated by the Store Manager.
  9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies and procedures.
  10. Ensure proper staffing coverage and sales floor effectiveness daily.
  11. Manage cashiering activities to ensure cash handling practices are followed.
  12. Manage promotional displays and seasonal areas to maximize sales.
  13. Coordinate signage and manage store supplies and expense control.
  14. Assist with merchandising, maintaining checkout area, and refilling store-front program racks/displays daily.
  15. Assist with the management of the Drive Item program.
  16. Support the creation of weekly schedules.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
  • Prefer prior retail and management experience.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
  • Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
