Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Assist in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Maintain all areas of the store to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not on the premises, assume supervisory responsibility for all hourly Associates.
8. Process all corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
10. Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
11. Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily.
12. Manage cashiering activities to follow cash handling practices and guidelines.
13. Manage promotional fixtures and displays effectively.
14. Oversee seasonal areas to maximize sales.
15. Coordinate signage used in the store.
16. Process damaged merchandise daily.
17. Assist with weekly schedule creation.
18. Manage store supplies and expenses.
19. Maintain merchandising and checkout area to maximize impulse sales.
20. Refill coolers and displays daily (e.g., balloon program, sunglasses, batteries).

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
