Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform all opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Assist in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Maintain all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not on the premises, take supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
8. Process all corporate directives related to store activities, such as Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information.
9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
10. Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
11. Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily.
12. Manage cashiering activities to follow cash handling practices and guidelines.
13. Coordinate store signage and manage seasonal displays for promotional effectiveness.
14. Manage store supplies and control expenses.
15. Assist with merchandising and maintaining checkout areas to maximize impulse sales.
16. Refill coolers and program racks/displays daily.
17. Assist with creating weekly schedules.
18. Process damaged merchandise daily.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
