Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Keep all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not present, assume direct supervisory responsibility for hourly associates.
8. Process all corporate directives related to store activities, including pull and hold/destroy, task compliance, and key survey information.
9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
10. Help ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
11. Assist in managing cashiering activities to follow all cash handling practices and guidelines.
12. Support promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
13. Help manage sales effectiveness of seasonal store areas.
14. Coordinate signage used in the store.
15. Process damaged merchandise daily.
16. Assist with creating weekly schedules.
17. Help manage store supplies and control expenses.
18. Assist with merchandising and maintaining checkout areas to maximize impulse sales.
19. Ensure coolers and storefront displays are refilled daily, including balloon programs, sunglasses, batteries, etc.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-energy team environment.
