Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities as directed by the Store Manager.
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Maintain a professional and friendly environment for customers, employees, and supervisors.
• Maintain store areas, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
• When the Store Manager is absent, assume direct supervisory responsibility for hourly associates.
• Process all corporate directives, including pull and hold/destroy, task compliance, and key survey information.
• Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
• Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily.
• Manage cashiering activities to follow cash handling practices and guidelines.
• Optimize promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Manage seasonal areas to maximize sales.
• Coordinate store signage.
• Process damaged merchandise daily.
• Assist in creating weekly schedules.
• Manage store supplies and control expenses.
• Maintain checkout area merchandising to maximize impulse sales.
• Refill coolers and store displays daily, including balloon programs, sunglasses, batteries, etc.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
