Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities as directed by the Store Manager.
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
• Keep all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
• When the Store Manager is not present, take direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
• Process all SSC Corporate directives and related store communications.
• Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD Policies and Procedures.
• Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily.
• Manage cashiering activities to follow cash handling practices and guidelines.
• Maintain promotional displays and manage seasonal store areas.
• Coordinate signage and ensure store displays are effective.
• Process damaged merchandise daily.
• Assist in creating weekly schedules.
• Help manage store supplies and control expenses.
• Assist with merchandising and maintaining checkout areas to maximize impulse sales.
• Refill coolers and program racks/displays daily, such as balloons, sunglasses, batteries, etc.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
