Responsible for assisting with all operational tasks within the store as delegated and assigned by the Store Manager, with a main focus on front-end and sales floor operations. Also assist with hiring, training, and developing store associates as delegated by the Store Manager.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities
  1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
  2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
  3. Assist in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
  4. Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
  5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
  6. Maintain all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
  7. When the Store Manager is not on the premises, take direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly Associates.
  8. Process all SSC Corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information, and other store activity communications delegated by the Store Manager.
  9. Assist the Store Manager with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD Policies and Procedures.
  10. Ensure proper staffing coverage daily and that the sales floor is sales-effective.
  11. Manage cashiering activities to ensure adherence to cash handling practices and guidelines.
  12. Oversee promotional storefront fixtures and displays, seasonal areas, and signage.
  13. Process damaged merchandise daily.
  14. Assist in creating weekly schedules and managing store supplies and expenses.
  15. Maintain checkout area merchandising to maximize impulse sales.
  16. Ensure coolers and program racks/displays are refilled daily (e.g., balloon program, sunglasses, batteries).
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
  1. Prefer prior retail and management experience.
  2. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
  3. Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
  4. Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
